WofW Classic: Are You Playing PvP Wargames
2020-05-27 00:00:00
WofW Classic allows players to clash in wargames. These are available for all three battlegrounds: Arathi Basin, Warsong Gulch, and Alterac Valley. What's different than playing a normal battleground? Wargames allow groups whose leaders know each other to fight against each other. Players from the two groups can even be from the same faction. Here is how it works.
First of all, the group leaders must be Battle.net friends. Then, they need to invite players into their group. Keep in mind that you need at least five players for Warsong Gulch. After the groups are formed, one of the leaders must challenge the other leader using a command. The syntax for the command is “/wargame battle.net ID battleground_name”.
The Battle.net ID is the name of the other group's leader. You only need to type the name. The # sequence is not necessary. If everything goes well, both groups will be in the queue. It doesn't take long for a wargame to be created so be prepared once you get invited into the group.
Wargames allow spectators. A third group can spectate a wargame if all the group leaders are Battle.net friends. The player that leads the spectator group will initiate the wargame using the command with the following syntax “/invitespectatormatch group1_leader group2_leader 0 battleground_name”. The spectator group can even have just one member. Players cannot be invited into the spectator group once the game begins. Spectators get a new keybind panel that is named Commentator. They will be able to customize the keybinds from the camera settings.
This is a nice feature that allows groups of players who know each other to compete in games. You can compete against players from the other faction or against members of your faction. A post announced that this feature is here to stay so you don't need to worry about it going away. WofW Classic doesn't have as many battlegrounds as the retail version so this is a great addition.
PvP players can take part in world PvP by flagging themselves for PvP or by playing on a PvP server where everyone is flagged for PvP by default. Many unique rewards can be won from PvP.
If you want to PvP in an organized setting, the best thing you can do is to find a PvP guild that runs battlegrounds and who can also help you with tips. If you need WofW Classic gold, don't forget to check out the GoldPiles store for the best prices!
